Sterling at a Glance
Located in Northeast Colorado,
the town of Sterling boasts a downtown district with numerous sites that have
been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Summit
Springs Battlefield, site of the last know Native American battle is situated
15 mi (24 km) southeast of the town site and features monuments describing the
historic events. Visitors can explore the culture and history of the region
at Overland
Trail Museum, which provides a comprehensive look into the regions' historic,
pioneering past. The annual High
Plains Expo, held on Mother's Day weekend at the Logan
County Fairgrounds, is a three-day event featuring hot-air ballooning, a
variety of merchandise vendors and many other family activities. Golfers can
hit the links at the community-run Riverview
Golf Course. Lodging options are numerous and provide excellent access to
many of the adventures that Colorado
has to offer.
